LTE is the only possible feature that makes postponing the iPhone 5 to the fall a smart decision. I am not convinced it's going to happen, but I don't understand all these comments about how this fall would be "too soon." Most of the major phones released this year have 4G capability. Anyone who buys an iPhone 5 in Sept/Oct will be stuck with it until almost 2013, when LTE will be widespread on both AT&T and Verizon.
I can't possibly imagine anyone (who lives on the coasts, anyway) buying a smartphone in Sept/Oct 2011 that is not LTE capable.
I think Apple is on to something here. No matter what amazing features the iPhone 5 has, if it came in June or July and it didn't have LTE capability, then the refrain across its lifetime would be: "Yeah, it's a great phone, but it's not 4G."
After all the antennagate hype, Apple doesn't need to build a similar failure right into the iPhone 5. And, as others have pointed out, this allows Apple to go back to its previous naming convention, by following the iPhone 4 with the iPhone 4G.

Hope it resolves the short battery life since updating to 4.3!
Yeah I have noticed this. I can only get around half the day before the battery is at 30%. When I use to be around 60% or so.

Supplies seem to be improving. My iPad2 was supposed to ship 4/1, shipped yesterday. Still in Hong Kong.

iMac and iPod updates sound pretty reasonable, personally I think we will have to see something released next week. I also think we wil see the end of Solo processors in the Mac Mini line by October at the latest.

I can't wait for this. Call me lazy, but I'm two small updates behind because I can't be bothered to sync my iPhone for fixes that don't affect me.

Honestly, I hope it's just matter of speaking : like "spring is in the air", or can you feel the changes "in the air"...
I'm totally NOT interested in any wireless products, least of all iPhone announcements or iTunes (or was that iPay :rolleyes:) commercials. Got my belly more than full of that...

I just bought a Macbook Pro literally 5 minutes ago. I've been waiting for months and I finally gave up. After the order was completed, I thought I'd check macrumors just for laughs and the first thing I saw was, "new macbook pros tomorrow?" :(
"Giving up" does not mean buying outdated technology for top dollar. If you were truly giving up on waiting, you should have also given up on Apple -- who did not value your interest enough to give you either a discount or some indication as to when updates would be released.

Like many like minded Apple users (I love this group), I am one that does not shop at Wal Mart. It's buisness model is to undercut and ruin other buisnesses.
Regardless of the fact that I live in the state that is home of Target Corporation, I simply do not like Wal Mart. I have listened to stories from Contractors in southern states say not so comforting things about that company. One of the companies that we work with was not alloud to have any women or African Americans working on job sites related to building Wal Mart buildings. If the companies were caught with such employees they were fined thousands of dollars!
Wal Mart an KMA (figure it out yourself), besides if they stop selling Cds and DVD's it really wouldn't matter to me anyway, as I don't buy from them!

Also, while looking for iTunes7 I read that v 6.0.5 could send audio to more than one set of remote speakers simultaneously. How do you do that?
If you have two different Airport Expresses, both with speakers attached, you can stream music to both at the same time. This isn't a new feature in 7.0.

Very curious as to how you get all these cups. I keep thinking in my head that there is no way you are taking them out of the garbage, so my next thought is do you work at a coffee house?

Well interesting point haha These cups are actually from classmates and one is my own. It's going to be a continuous series using peoples cups that aren't from the garbage haha. I made sure to ask them for the cups before they threw them away :p

Each one of those at the very least brings into question how the religious beliefs of the Hebrews as a whole differed from those of their polytheistic contemporaries, especially in the period before 580BCE. Abraham may have made a covenant, but it was not with Jehovah, it was with El. It says so in the bible. So much of the mythology, Noah/Utnapishtim, etc., is taken directly from other sources that it really beggars belief to treat the story of the Hebrew god(s) as anything other than a continuation of previous beliefs and story-cycles.

So maybe this explains the low price point. $299 for Final Cut Pro X and $999 for the full suite? I hope not. All looks amazing though!
Dude, this software is simply INCREDIBLE!!! It is worth so much more than $999.00 it is not even funny! If they sell each separate for $299 or $999 for the whole suite then that is an awesome deal with more options for individual purchase than before. I CAN'T WAIT to see the rest of the suite especially the new Motion with Shake baked in :) I was a bit nervous that the other apps were dead so this is GREAT news!

As long as I can turn it off, I don't care. I can see few reasons why 3D would be useful to me in a tablet, but then the iPhone is full of tech that seemed gimmicky to start and was eventually put to good use by innovative devs. It'll take a while before it gets refined enough to be of value, but gotta start sometime.

Do that with your girlfriend, I dont think ANYONE would want a stranger theyve known for 1 minute coming up to them and putting crap into their ear.

For months on end we've been bombarded with Zune-friendly "news" articles calling it an "iPod killer". Even before Microsoft had a name for it, before they had any sort of design for it, while it was still vaporware, the media kept hammering home, "iPod killer" while seeming to drool over the prospect.
I guess you've been reading different articles than I have. Since they've announced details and pictures I've mostly been seeing articles along the lines of "What a Turd".

Just remembering the iMac Dock patent - the dock communicated with the notebook wirelessly. I suspect this is what the "Something's in the Air" posters are about. Imagine if the new ultra-thin Notebook has no cables at all - doesn't even have any sockets - maybe not even power socket or USB. It charges through contact conduction, and talks to the dock & optical drive via WiFi or some proprietary wireless protocol design for this purpose.
By eliminating all connectors, and the associated electronics, they can probably make a notebook thinner than anyone has ever seen before.

There seem to be varying reports of the serial numbers affected, and Apple's site seems dead right now. I'm hoping my battery IS affected, because I was getting close to ordering a new battery, as my year-and three month old battery is down to 25% of it's original capacity after 440 load cycles.
The site was up briefly and claimed 4-6 weeks for the new battery to ship. That's a LONG time to go without a battery.
don't worry 'bout that. they will send you a new one and then you return the battery - at least they did it this way with my battery..

The 2.0Ghtz versions were upgraded to 1GB Ram minimum (up from 512).
