A crap camera will never take a great picture, despite the hands it is in. It might take something vaguely enigmatic on some level, but with bad lens, inability to capture colors, or faulty mechanics/electronic, it will be nothing more than a crippling piece of equipment.
A good photographer can frame, layer, focus the subject, and compose well. Yes, you don't need a "good" camera for those qualities, but you need a well-creafted camera to back up and improve on the photographer's skills.
Sorry to say, but your are mistaken. People have been taking phenomenal photos without the cameras sold today. Cameras of yesterday were not as accurate nor precise as they are today, yet incredible photos have been taken for quite some time. How is that?

Forgive me if this isn't new, but I just noticed that you can order the BT keyboard and mighty mouse as a package for $60 ($54 edu discount). Given that the BT MM alone is $69, this is a great deal.

...and they showed one of the 'good' retailers, Costco, the door.
Which Apple Store did you try, there is more than one in ATL.
Only one in Atlanta really. Dunwoody isn't technically Atlanta.

The only thing I don't like about my 12" PB is that the screen is not very bright. It's nearly unusable even in shade. Speakers could also use a boost. The MB screen is so nice! You new buyers have it so good. :)

Sorry Nipsy, i know you weren't talking about Apple's speed in your posts and i meant to say that in my last post, but i'm too tired and must have missed it out somewhere in typing everything.
Again, more good replies from you.
I agree in some parts, but i also agree with MacCoaster.
I propose that we don't design chips for Apple, but let them know what we want. Sure, some Apple people may (and i'm not saying definately do), check up on a few forums to find out what their customers want, but until you hit apple with multiples of requests for what you want, you won't get anywhere by just sitting here and complaining about it (again, not directing this at you, Nipsy, but everyone who does complain).

All of Apple's supposed "new" features are not as new as they seem.
I like what they are doing with the stuff, but right now they need to save their *** and give away some "secret" features before people stop caring.
I don't think that they're in any danger of that. This was a sneak peek. It was not a Beta Release, it is not a "features complete" release. Come January, if there aren't major improvements, then I think what you're suggesting could be discussed further. Until then, it's not fair to say that Leopard isn't going to be a success. We simply don't know enough about the final version to make any level of educated statement in that regard.

They should use the new LOVE mix of Tomorrow Never Knows with Within You Without You. The drumming is so cool and it would attract so much attention since although so many have heard the two separate songs, hearing the Mashup of the two is quite stunning and very modern. You should check it out if you have not yet. Amazing sound. Especially in 5.1
That album is completely lame. I was bored to tears listening to it on the Virgie magastore booth...
This is the best Beatles album period: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Grey_Album
Enough Jay-Z meets the Beatles is way more creative. Someday Applecorps will need to release this.

If it were glasses-less 3d... wouldn't it need a retina display at 240hz? 120fps for each eye? Someone please correct me if I'm wrong!

In 40 years let's see how Justin Beiber and Lady Bla Bla are selling. Rock on Beatles!
I don't know. The biggest seller in the UK, even now, is Sir Cliff Richard and he was knighted before Sir Paul McCartney.

I'm in New York City for a band trip and I'm running into Beatles/iTunes ads everywhere. I made sure to go to the Apple Store and they were constantly playing Beatles music. Apple really is advertising the hell out of the band. :p
And for good reason. The more people introduced to The Beatles, the better. :D

I love how everybody is like "I've got the CDs who cares" or "Buy the CDs they are cheaper". The Beatles on iTunes isn't for you. It is for people who don't buy CDs, it's for the future when the majority of people get digital music and it's certainly for a whole generation of kids who won't know what a CD is or care, in the same way that vinyl is now seen as archaic.
I'm sure I am repeating someone else's thoughts, but it doesn't seem clear to a lot of people.
The real problem is you are losing the "feel" of those albums from Vinyl.
I'm a Gen Xer and tapes were b and Cd's were the big thing when I was growing up.
I had the luxury of having parents who had a Grundig Majestic Stereo with record player. I own it now. It captures a lot more of the recording than digital ever can.
Case and Point Rolling Stones "Let it Bleed"
No comparison. I love digital music because its easy to store. That's it. Quality goes to Vinyl hands down. I'm just sayin'. Vinyl is not Archaic is all.

Why is he blaming it on us? Its "ultimate"ly his decision to use and post what information was given to him. He's the one that needs to decipher between good and bad tips. Not to just take anything anyone says as fact and then publish on his website.
My thoughts exactly. Thank you for providing my daily chuckle.

It is clearly a fake. Its amazing what you can do with glossy printer paper!
Actually, I'm looking at it (again!), there was definitively something weirdo about the screen... curvy but flat... no reflection, no shining...

The issue that always seems to pop up in these affairs is the OIL. Well, yeah, that is important. Though we have no vested interests in Libya per se (apart from, perhaps, the Lockerbie incident, and possibly the Achille Lauro), it has been mentioned periodically that oil is "fungible". Even if we are not actually consuming Libyan oil, its absence from the global pool would affect us, so really, there is a significant interest there.
More importantly, though, the oil-soaked nations draw a lot of income from their fields, which allows/forces them to acquire the most sophisticated martial paraphernalia available. In this respect, they represent the most serious potential threat to everyone else in the world. Hence, Kuwait and not Sudan, Libya and not Cte d'Ivoire.
Really, though, I have this nagging feeling that the right-wing indignation over this action is partly being fomented by Halliburton and Blackwater, who stand to make no absurd profits in Libya.

Add Frank Zappa to that list.

Well since Windows has about 95% of the market, which don't include the bootcamp users, I thinking a lot of people will be.
All of the people I know (except the ones who got their windoze bundled) did not "BUY" their windows, but still use it on their PCs.. ;)

If this is the theme this year then it looks like wireless is the main product announcements. Unless they want to hide any reference to multi-touch.

PC sales are shrinking because of stagnation in the primary driving force for selling new PC hardware.
Games.
Gamers now have 4 platforms to choose from (smart phone, console, hand-held, PC), and game developers are putting LESS dollars into high end PC titles and concentrating on consoles for their premium products.
With no Diablo 3 (or whatever) to entice me with gameplay I can't find anywhere else, I have much less of a reason to play games on my PC rig, much less upgrade it.
When it comes to writing emails or checking facebook, a smart phone or tablet will do that just as well as a PC.
Macs have never been gaming machines, so they are immune from that particular effect. It is 'trendy' to have a macbook right now (seriously, go to a coffee shop and tell me what you see), and the vast majority of their sales are to less-technology/gadget-savvy users who have bought their Mac because of other people telling them that Macs are good, rather than the hardware, specs, or software on the computer.
In the end, it is all marketing... which is the case with most of Apple's products. They have been selling PC hardware now for years at a higher price than their competitors. Windows 7 isn't any worse (or better) than MacOS for browsing the web or checking email..... so its not the OS that is influencing soccer moms and emo kids to buy Mac either.

The 2.0 model also includes 4MB L2 cache instead of "just" 2MB L2 cache... remember the days when we used to measure L2 in increments of 256KB?
Yes, it drives people to buy the 2.0 model and YES it drives away the others that are not prepared to spend this extra 200$....

so if u have 3 screws, that means it was serviced
my 2 macbook for business came out of the box with 3 screws so would that indicate that they serviced that macbooks before they were shipped to me
No. It has been established already that all the MacBooks have 3 screws. Mine was one of the first to arrive in the UK and It has 3 screws. The pic you just saw is actually from page 6, posted to show how it had 3 screws. This is a photoshop job.

Nah dude, the battery division is in a different building :-)
Correct , that building is run entirely on batteries, but you can only work in it for a maximum of 10 hours:-)
It's right across from the Droid building where they only work 3 hours. That's why that group has a hard time catching up in OS development.

Apple is purchasing the 700 mhz range to offer free wireless iTunes in all of its products across North America! ;)
Perhaps not for that purpose, but one wonders what Apple could do with part of the 700MHz spectrum...
How decent is it for streaming video? With Slingbox rumored to be working on an iPhone and iPod Touch client, perhaps Apple is looking at streaming rentals to those devices for when you find yourself stuck in an airport because of a delayed flight. Make a great ad tie-in:
"There is something in the air, but it's not you because of snow at O'Hare. So why not catch the new episode of '(insert show name here)' while you wait for the next update at the gate?"
