ROFLMAO!
That's as funny as the RIM CEO defending the PlayBook by saying email "really isn't a core element."

Also, it's nice to know that us iOS users are unaffected by the latest Flash exploit for Android.

Not bad for not being the "best" because Windows and Android is better right?
You are comparing software to hardware. Simply put in terms off hardware mac does not have the best. Neither Google or Microsoft produce their own computers. I think you missed the comment completely

I drop calls like mad with AT&T. Wonder if it's about time to head over to Verizon, especially if it starts beating AT&T to the punch with features like these.
It'll be over wifi.

I remember reading rumors that there will also be text-to-speech features in the new iPod. If they combine books and this, that'd be awesome.
I don't care about screen real estate, eBook readers or any of that. Give me a 100GB hard drive!

I'm sorry to tell this. It's strange to read 'There's something in the air' after just finishing reading an article about the biggest carpet bombing operation since 2003.
1) But I'd like to have my poor Airport Express updated for sound while watching movies.
2) And the poor iPod HIFI should be an iPod WIFI.
2) Wireless Blu-ray for the MacBook Nano.
3) iPhone 2 as a high speed internet hub when using the MacBook on the road.
4) A solution to get rid of all the cables?

No, I don't watch TV in the summer. Reruns are lame. Reality shows are stupid. TiVo is God.
So.. when Microsoft challenges me to figure out "Where I Want To Go Today?", I should be pissed because Windows won't take me to Peoria?

And they're going implement this to good effect on a phone camera?
No. See my earlier reply to fertilised-egg, post #185.
I was querying the statement:
"You are limited by the focal length, which is dictated by the thickness of the device. There is no magic way around this."
I was under the impression that using a negative or positive element behind a lens was the 'magic way around' accommodating less-than-ideal focal lengths/registration distances.
So... if you weren't in fact limited by either the the focal length or thickness of the device wouldn't it be possible to employ a larger sensor and thus pacify all the people earlier in this thread would felt 8mp on the current sized sensor was a retrograde step?

When you're married, it's a partnership, and it's no longer a case of "your money" and "her money", but a case of "OUR" money. Once responsibilities are out the way, then personal purchases can be looked at, but unless you're in a job where you have a LOT of disposable income far in excess of what's required to pay the mortgage and many bills, then yes it's only right you make sure you have the money to go out and buy a gadget which, most of the time, only you will use.
I'm fortunate that my wife enjoys using technology, but I still wouldn't go out on payday and just buy a new gadget without at least letting her know I was doing it, and if I spend money on something, it's only fair she does the same ... which means for whatever you spend, you need to double it and again it's only after looking at bills and responsibilities that you can do so.
That's a really dangerous way of looking at it. It's much better to have three sets of money -- our money, my money, and your money. Preferably in separate bank accounts. In a situation like you sketch, usually one or the other spouse ends up doing most of the purchases with the communal chest, and that can lead to conflict when the other one wants to get something for himself.
Kids have pocket money, which they can spend as they see fit -- adults should have at least some money that is unquestionably theirs as well. It's a lot easier to agree, once, that M and F's personal entertainment budgets are $n per month, than it is to agree that this september, we'll get a couch, and then maybe in january we'll get an ipad, etc... Budgetting and saving apply on that level as well as the communal property level.

ThinkSecret is generally dead on when it comes to things like this. So, it'd be great if they released an updated 23" iMac. I just got a 5G iPod 30GB in July and am happy with it so I don't need a new 'pod. And yes, I just got a new MacBook 2 weeks ago, but for future purchases, a 23" iMac would be neat.

If Apple manufactured their products in the US, the iPhone would probably cost $999 with a 2-year contract and the iPad would probably cost $1599 for the 16GB model.
When you have to pay someone $12 an hour to work an assembly line and pay for benefits and payroll taxes, that raises costs a lot to a country where you can pay 75 cents per hour and benefits like health insurance cost $5 a month rather than $500.
A 25-page document isn't necessary and the law would be dumb. All that it takes is for someone to take a basic economics course.
Americans who complain about jobs leaving overseas need to realize that when they go shopping they need to put their money where their mouth is. Everyone pays lip service to "made in the usa" but when they look at the price tags in the store they buy made in china!
The thing to watch here is if the quality improves when production is done in Brazil. If the production quality is the same or better, that's good news for consumers.

When I was a ToysRUS kid, there were only two racks in the store and it only sold burlap sacks and one Atari game. My time has changed.

I was waiting for the 'we've licensed the Beatles' announcement after he'd played some of their songs as well. Though thinking about it, that would be done at a separate announcement, when Apple need some easy pr.
I agree; it was a teaser. I think everyone was expecting the announcement, and playing The Beatles during the keynote got everyone excited.
But this clearly deserves its own event. Also, 2007 is the 20th anniversary of the CD releases, and the 40th anniversary of the release of Sgt. Pepper. These are both big milestones, and both Apples will want to capitalize on it. I don't think it was coincidence that they played a track from Sgt. Pepper (Lovely Rita was it? I haven't seen the keynote). Look for an announcement in the near future, followed by a release (of at least Sgt. Pepper) on June 1, which is the 40th anniversary date.
In addition to downloads, I'd also really like to see upgraded CD (or even surround) releases of the UK albums.

Apple will continue to sell the iPod classic as long as they are making money on them. I would probably buy one on clearance if they discontinued it and dropped the price. I love having ALL my music in one place without having to choose what to sync.

I hope they brighten the interface a bit. I find it too dark. Also i hope some of the buttons become drop down buttons. It looks way more cluttered then FCP7.
all the improvements i have seen are major approvements. Even though this is an early demo. bravo, apple.
edit: or give us the advanced and regular version UI ;) all buttons that have shortcuts i dont see need for in the UI for an everyday user like me.
Don't know if you have seen the hi-res screenshots but there seems to be a switch (like a light switch) next to the zoom tools in the bottom right that could toggle between two set colours maybe?
