You miss an important point. It is all about branding. I think that both Apples would do very well her thank you very much, but getting the Beatles would be a very huge coup for Apple and online music in general. iTunes and the like are still relatively small compared to CD and other music sales. You may be someone who has been on board for along time, but the HALO effect here would me immense. Sort of the the big increase in MAC users (from PCs) due to iPod sales.
Hope you're right.

Hells yes brah. ODST is my favorite game in the Halo series and I really like the ODSTs as a unit as well.
I really enjoyed ODST as well. I've used the ODST helmet for a long time. I used it all through Halo 3, and was glad to see it come back in Reach. The shoulders look ace as well, so that works. You should, if you haven't already, pick up Buck for your "Firefight Voice" in the Armory. Next to Auntie Dot, he is the best one. Some great lines.

Because they all build the same product, sales can move from one company to another company very, very quickly, as we can see from the enormous growth followed by a very quick fall of Acer. Apple has 9.3%, so the rest has 90.7%. It would be possible with these numbers to have nine companies selling more than Apple. If Apple doubles their share to 18.6%, you still could have four companies selling more than Apple.

If HP takes a few sales away from Toshiba, Apple comes third. But if Acer takes a few sales away from HP instead, Apple comes fifth. What does it matter? (BTW. I am curious as another poster said about the figures with this iPad2 sales. It is an expensive device with not much more to offer than the original. Also with Verizon selling the first gens for next to nothing it almost seems silly to buy the other. Just the other day went to Verizon and bought a second first gen for a family member where the faster processor and cameras are not a priority. I was thinking to myself at that moment and why is anyone waiting in line to get this same thing with rounded edges, faster processor, and 2 sub-par cameras? They also had the ipad2's in stock unsure what size since I did not really care but I played with one and it was neat but not $300 more neat than what I was going in to buy.

could use a new fresh pair of batteries anyway. i am checking to see if any of my 3 are swapable.

The video is now posted on the Washington Post blog to see how they go about it. I'm watching it now. They do seem to stress that it's not an Apple vulnerability, but an 802.11 driver issue. Anyways, let's see what they can do.

EDIT: Holy crap, that was pretty convincing to a relative amateur like me. They seemed to basically do whatever they wanted to the system. Was there something underhanded here that I didn't catch that would make this unusable in reality, or is there valid concern based on this demo?

Can anyone confirm the rumor that Apple has removed the OPTION key from all new Mac Pro machines?
I guess Options are a sensitive subject in Cupertino these days.
Yes, Steve did look rather gaunt at yesterday's keynote. But bear two things in mind:
1. He is a recovering pancreatic cancer victim.
2. He is either a vegan or vegetarian.
Steve did seem to rely upon his exec staff more than in the past, but it did give us the opportunity to size them up a bit. A few observations...

I was just about to post this. The UK store appears down for me at the moment. This is based on the edu price (the UK edu store is up for me).
I'm teetering the edge of buying the black one. If that price was for a 1x1GB memory config I'd be a lot more tempted.
I think I can wait until the MBP 13.3 that will be announced in January (alongside the touchscreen ipod). :D
I wouldn't get the black. I had one, and it looked great fresh from the box, but looked old and tired 30 minutes later with grease marks all over it. Stick with the white as the smooth plastic finish doesn't show marks and is easier to clean.

I don't know why people are going on and on about the $400 price for Windows Vista Ultimate version. That's a retail price, just like the $300 retail price for windows XP. Only an idiot would buy a retail version of windows when you can get the same full install (not an upgrade) oem version for a fraction of that price.
A retail version of Windows XP professional SP2 is $300 at compUSA and the OEM of XP pro SP2 is $130 at my local PC parts store.
Retail pricing isn't even worth discussing unless Microsoft decides to end oem sales of windows.

Does this update my iPad to an iPad 2?
The reason the iPad's file size is so large (593MB) is because it has to install a camera on the top of the iPad, and if you go into the Settings> General> Bezel, you can now change it from Black to White (or vise versa) whenever you want.
This is an awesome update, hurry, download it.

I have to go mucking around with plugins to get Flash out of my face on OS X, compared to the iPhone, which does it for me. :rolleyes:
All jokes aside, I personally don�t like Flash, but I�m not quite sure I see the evil of just having the option for it on the iPhone.

That was BEFORE THE T-mobile + ATT merger was announced! WHEN VZW was the largest cell company.
I have a feeling VZW will reverse it's stance and keep unlimited data longer than expected to stay competitive against T-mobile + ATT.
Now with the merger coming , VZW will have to stay competitive, unlimited data makes them more attractive against the ATT + T-Mobile super company.
maybe, maybe not... that's just your opinion on what may happen, not a fact.
